"Holy Noah Commemoration Ceremony" Begins in Şırnak

In the program held at the Cizre Nuh Nebi Mosque, the Quran was read and following the Friday prayer, the tomb of Prophet Nuh was visited.

Ashura and lemonade were served to the citizens at the exit of the mosque.

Şırnak Governor Birol Ekici, in his statement to reporters, stated that the foundation of the Hz. Noah Mosque will be laid in the program that will continue in the Cudi Sefine region tomorrow.

Ekici stated that the President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş will also attend the program and said, "We will all work together to show the unity, solidarity, brotherhood and peace of the people who have lived in this region for thousands of years. As a symbol of this, we will lay the foundation of a mosque in the Sefine region of Mount Cudi tomorrow. He wants all our citizens to witness this moment tomorrow. I wish it to be auspicious."

The program was attended by AK Party Şırnak Deputy Arslan Tatar, Cizre District Governor Ahmet Vezir Baycar, Iraqi Consul General in Gaziantep Thoalfıqar Tawfıo Humoud, Şırnak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TSO) President Osman Geliş, Cizre TSO President Ömer Faruk Yıldırım, Cizre ESO President Hafzullah Memduhoğlu, political party representatives, institution managers and citizens.

A panel titled "Prophet Noah and His Message" was held in the program that continued in the El-Cezeri Hall of the Şırnak University Campus within the scope of the "Prophet Noah Commemoration Ceremony".

In the session moderated by Şırnak University (ŞÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. Abdurrahim Alkış, ŞÜ Faculty of Theology Academic Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özdemir made a presentation on "Cudi's place in Islamic sources", and ŞÜ Faculty of Theology Academic Member Prof. Dr. Nurullah Agitoğlu made a presentation on "Hz. Noah and his struggle according to the Quran".

Deputy Mayor Şemşettin Barış, representatives of civil society organizations, academics and students attended the panel.
